Growing up I was sick, a lot.  I went to see all sorts of doctors, in all sorts of places.  Nothing seem to make me well. Since then, I have learned that with a more holistic lifestyle and a better connection with nature, we can help heal ourselves. I believe our own wellness starts within.  And more importantly, I have experienced it.  I love sharing my passion in the kitchen or in nature with any and everybody. As a hobby, I brew a healing tea called Kombucha.

Fort Collins has been my home since 1984 when I began a Horticultural Degree from CSU.  I have worked in Human Services for over 20 years for community organizations including Foothills Gateway, Poudre School District, City of Fort Collins and Columbine Health Care Systems.   My personal and professional goal is to help empower people through recognizing their strengths and supporting their journey through education and encouragement.  As Patient Navigator, I’m here to help prospective patients know if they qualify for MMJ and help them access a doctor’s referral.  Once a patient has their referral, I can work with them to decide what method and strain of medicine may best suit their needs for their particular condition.  I can also steer patients to other alternative health support both within our Center and the Fort Collins community.

Holistic healing and alternative medicine have always been a part of my life. I have witnessed first hand the positivity that comes along with natural living through proper nutrition, fitness, and herbal remedies and I am grateful for the opportunity to spread that positivity into our community. I have a degree in environmental science and I am very passionate about wildlife conservation and sustainability.  When I have time off, I enjoy volunteering around the world with conservation projects. I love being outdoors, exploring new places, and meeting new faces!

Laura Lynn Graves, Holistic Nutrition Counselor

Picture
I first became interested in nutrition after reading a newspaper article. The article talked about a school.  They changed what they were feeding the students, and two weeks later the "bad" kids were like angels - after reading this article I vowed to learn everything I could about the relationship we have with food.

I was certified through the Midwest Institute of Natural Healing. My curriculum there reflected the importance of exposure to many health and wellness subjects while developing in-depth knowledge of major health issues of society today. Here is a list of some, but not all topics covered in class: the importance of physical activity (yoga, walking, etc.); digestion; fats; proteins and carbohydrates; food pyramids; food politics;whole grains and how to cook them; cravings, weight loss, obesity and metabolism; blood-typing; food combining; detoxification raw and living foods; osteoporosis; diabetes; heart disease artificial sweeteners; arthritis and other inflammatory disease; and diet theories and fads.

I offer a free 30 minute consultation to give you an idea of the services I have available.  I offer a free Q&A time at Natural Alternatives for Health to reach people in the community that are unable to pay for a nutritionist's services. I also offer donation-based reiki sessions.

I have been doing healing work all my life.  I have always been able to connect with animals and always seemed to know when they needed healing.  I have also been able to work  on people to clear pain and promote healing but I never had formal training.

I began learning how to fine tune the healing energy with classes in Reiki, Healing Touch, Healing Touch for Animals and Universal White Time Healing.  I am also Certified in Reflexology and have been working with Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils for over 10 years.

I offer Chakra Connection sessions at Natural Alternatives for Health on Wednesdays from 11-3 and Thursdays from 4-7. These sessions are free to all ages.

I offer sessions for Healing Touch, Healing Touch for Animals, Reflexology with Essential Oils, Emotional Clearing and Chakra Connections.

I teach classes on Creating Sacred Space in your Home and Business, Personal Energetic     Protection, Essential Oils and more...see the Earth Star Website at www.earthstar-store.com for more information about Healing Sessions.

Since childhood I have always been fascinated and immersed in the outdoors and intrigued by Mother Nature’s offerings and the Earth’s abilities. My love for farming and growing my own foods and medicines is deeply rooted within me and goes back generations on both sides of my family. My love for plants and gardening has been formed through experiences which have taken me all over. I have worked for The Breakers Palm Beach, in Florida, where I was responsible for managing and growing high end container arrangements along ocean front property. I have done some volunteer work on permaculture and organic farms in Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Massachusetts. I also have given lectures and classes on container gardening at Mounts Botanical Gardens in Palm Beach and have worked with elementary school children teaching the benefits of growing a garden and composting with worms! Most recently I have enjoyed helping patients learn how to set up personal gardens at home and grow their own medicine. In 2008 I started Green Day Organics, an organic herb and produce company serving local health food stores and farmers markets in South Florida. In 2009 I transferred the business from Florida but modified it to also include helping medical cannabis patients. I think that we have learned a lot these last couple of years. I am very proud to be a part of Natural Alternatives for Health, which is a complete, holistic wellness and education center for those looking for alternative ways to take charge of health and well-being.
